Interviews are essentially a formal setup for a structured conversation where one or more people are involved in asking questions and the others in answering them. An interview is often intended to analyze the interviewee’s potential and qualifications to fit a required job. Hence, it is purposeful to both the organization and the candidate. Furthermore, it helps in the verification of the information supplied by the candidate and offers a deeper insight into the candidate’s analytical and creative skills. The interviewer often holds the authority to ask a range of questions to test and verify the candidate’s skills and competency. There are different types of interview that can be adopted by a particular organization depending upon the requirements of the organization and the concerned job position. Face-to face interview, panel interview and group interview are some of the traditional forms of interviews which have been used across different sectors to select and screen eligible candidates. In recent years, telephonic interviews, interviews over Skype and interviews over lunch or dinner have gained popularity. Such different styles of interview offer a healthy amount of flexibility, comfort and other features that enable the interviewers to obtain the desired information in an efficient way. Evidently, an interview is a critical step which ultimately allows a person to get the desired job in the desired organization. At times it can be the most difficult step in the entire journey of getting placed in the position of choice. Hence, it is very important for the candidates to be at their best while appearing for an interview and give it their best. Being punctual, analyzing the job description, being attentive during the interview and most importantly being confident are some of the hacks that the candidates can cling on to crack the interview of their dream jobs.
